We're going to have a summer full of fun adventures
Join us for our Verano de Aventuras Summer Camps!
Aventuras is excited to offer Spanish Immersion Summer Camps in San Francisco in June, July and August. Just like our After School Program, our "Verano de Aventuras" is based on Experiential Learning and offers -each week- a combination of fun and interactive activities in the areas of visual arts, STEM, music & movement, mindfulness, and culture & community.
** COVID-19 | MAY 26th UPDATE **
The City of San Francisco has published new regulations for summer camps. We can now offer Summer Camps to all kids and families, not just essential workers. Some regulations and procedures include:
having stable groups of 12 or less children (pods)
offer sessions with a minimum duration of 3 weeks each
follow disinfecting and cleaning guidelines as published by the CDC, the Health Department and other agencies
and asking parents/guardians to keep social distance and mask-wearing when dropping off and picking-up their kids. (Children under 12 years-old are not required to wear masks)
As of today, May 26, we are planning to operate our Summer Camps in person following the latest guidelines from our local health authority. We'll offer three 3-week sessions:
- Session 1 - June 15 - July 2nd
- Session 2 - July 6 - 24
- Session 3 - July 27 - August 14
Spots are limited, we are prioritizing essential worker families first and we'll be offering spots as they become available. Registration opens on Saturday May 30th.
Our modified Summer Camp hours are 9:30 am - 4:30 pm. Unfortunately we won't be offering before care or after care at this time.
Since we are fortunate to have a large indoor space, plus a patio, we are able to offer a combination of indoor and outdoor activities. Pending on approval from the local health authorities we might even be able to have one (or more) field trip per week to a local park/large open space, such as Glen Park Canyon, to do some hiking and nature explorations. If approved children need to be dropped off and picked up at those locations, as we are not able to offer transportation to/from our Mission St. location to/from the field trip location.
We won't have any weeks exclusively dedicated to stop motion video projects.
This is our sample schedule for a regular camp day:
9:30 - 10 am - arrival at our location, supervised free time
10:00 - 10:30 am - community and mindfulness circle, and introduction to the daily activities
10:30 - 10:50 am - morning snack (we will provide a healthy morning snack)
10:50 am - 12:20 pm - morning Experiential Learning activities
12:20 - 2:00 pm - lunch at the patio, supervised outdoor free playtime and guided games
2:00 - 3:15 - afternoon Experiential Learning activities
3:15 - 3:30 - afternoon snack (please send an afternoon snack)
3:30 - 4:00 pm - supervised free playtime and guided games (indoor/outdoor)
4:15 - 4:30 pm - pick-up
If approved, a detailed schedule for field trip days will be shared a week before the beginning of camp.
No change/modification fees. Family can change to another available session and pay only the difference in session price, if any.
In the event the session needs to be cancelled due to health advisories, you will receive full credit for a future session/program, or a full refund minus a $50 fee.
Cancellations: a full refund minus a $50 cancellation fee if cancellation is received no later than 4 weeks before the start of the session. You can cancel the session up to two weeks before the session starts and receive full credit to re-book for any future session/program.
All credits must be used by Sept 1, 2021 and can be used for another family member.
Registration will open on Saturday May 30th. To register using Activity Hero please use the "Add to Cart" buttons below.
