Our 2023-2024 academic year after school program will start in mid-August with engaging and fun activities -en Español- for Aventureros in grades K - 5th

Our daily afternoon activities are focused on Experiential Learning and incorporate a combination of visual arts, music + movement, drama + storytelling, STEM, yoga + mindfulness, and culture and community. Our adventures are guided by our monthly themes, and they all happen in a Spanish Immersion environment.
Hours: 2:00 - 6:00 pm on Mon / Tue / Thu / Fri, and 1:00 - 6:00 pm on Wednesdays.
Registering: enrollment is on an annual basis with monthly payments, or discounted semester (5-month) or annual (10-month) prepayments.
Attendance: our flexible enrollment allows for attendance starting at 2 days per week.
Transportation: we offer on-foot pick up, at no extra charge, from:
select schools* located within a 1-mile radius of the location where you've been offered a spot, or
a school bus stop located within a 1-mile radius of the location where you've been offered the spot
(e.g. Alvarado's bus stop on 21st and Valencia is less than 1 mile away form our Mission location)
*We currently offer on-foot pick up from TECA, Marshall, CDS, Harvey Milk, and Alvarado bus stop (both of their bus routes), and will consider offering this service to other schools within the 1-mile radius if we have at least 3 students from the same school attending on the same days, with the same dismissal/pick-up time, AND for at least 3 days per week.
For schools located farther than 1 mile away, we can suggest third-party transportation options, or help coordinate carpool options.
Our two locations are very similar with high ceilings, lots of natural light, two separate indoor spaces, a patio/backyard, and plenty of opportunities for exploration, creativity, and learning. Placement at either of our locations depends on school attending, capacity, daily group size, ages, and genders. We welcome our younger Aventureros (K-2nd) at our Noe Valley location, and all elementary-school ages (K - 5th) at our Mission location. We can’t guarantee you’ll get a spot at your preferred location, but we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs, while offering the best experience possible to most students.
Aventuras offers a Full Academic Year Program that runs August to May/early June, following the SFUSD calendar. The program is closed for all major holidays, school holidays, and during the four SFUSD school breaks —Thanksgiving Break (week of 4th Thursday in November), Winter Break (Late December/Early January), Spring Break (coordinated with SFUSD), and Summer Break (June-August).
>> Our first day of operation for the academic year 2023-2024 will be Monday, August 21st. We realize SFUSD start date is Wednesday August 16th but we are closing for a few days to prepare and transition from Summer Camps to our academic year programming.
Sample schedule (schedules vary depending on the school release time and walking distances):

3:50 - 4:00 pm - Afternoon snack at the park provided by Aventuras
4:00 - 4:20 pm - Walk from the playground/park to our location
4:20 - 4:30 pm - Community circle and mindfulness practice (meditation/breathing techniques/yoga)
4:30 - 5:30 pm - Experiential learning activities
5:30 - 6:00 pm - Free time / pick-up
1:00 - 3:00 pm - Pick up from school/school bus stop, and transfer to the local playground/park --Mission playground or Upper Noe playground-- for outdoor play (weather permitting).
3:30 - 3:40 pm - Afternoon snack at the park provided by Aventuras

Enrollment and Tuition
Our goal is to offer a high quality Spanish Immersion after school program for families who:
- value bilingualism and favor Spanish as a second language, and/or
- already speak Spanish and value culture and tradition
Therefore, we welcome children who already have some knowledge of and familiarity with the Spanish language - currently in a Spanish Immersion or Dual Language School program, previous experience of at least one full year in a Spanish Immersion preschool or with a Spanish-speaking caregiver, or living in a Spanish-speaking/bilingual household.
2 days a week - $520/month
3 days a week - $700/month
4 days a week - $920/month
5 days a week - $1,105/month
This price includes:
- On-foot transfer from the child(ren)’s school (or school bus stop) to Aventuras, for selected schools (or school bus stops) located no more than 1 mile away from our location.**
- All materials used during the program
- A daily healthy snack
**With a minimum of 3 students per school (or school bus stop) on the same days, for at least 3 days per week. For those families whose school is more than 1 mile away from Aventuras (either location) we’ll contact you directly to discuss transportation options available.
Siblings get an automatic 5% discount in monthly tuition.
Semi-annual prepayment (5 months) - 5% discount.
Annual prepayment (10 months) - 10% discount.
We are happy to offer financial aid to a few families who really need it; if you would like to apply for reduced tuition based on income please email us for more information.
Parents can choose to pay in full annually, semi-annually, or in ten monthly installments based on the number of days a week the child(ren) are attending plus a deposit equal to one month’s tuition based on number of days a week attending. If you are not re-enrolling for the next school year the deposit is applied to the last month of the current school year (May payment), if you are re-enrolling the deposit rolls over. Since our program starts late in August, tuition for this month is prorated.
Refunds or allowances in tuition will not be made to compensate for extended absences in the event of illness, vacations, inclement weather, school holidays or other circumstances.
We hope you and your child(ren) enjoy our program and stay for the whole academic year, and subsequent years, but we understand sometimes things change or you might decide Aventuras is not the best fit for your family.
At time of enrollment a security deposit equal to one full month’s tuition, based on the number of days per week attending, is charged in addition to the first month’s tuition installment. In case of withdrawal from the program before the academic year term is completed, this security deposit will be applied to the last installment payment of the final month attending, provided at least 30 days written notice is given. If notice is given within less than 30 days of the desired withdrawal date, this deposit is non-refundable.
For annual and semi-annual payments, provided at least 30 days written notice is given, we’ll refund the equivalent of monthly tuition (based on the number of days a week attending) for the amount of complete months remaining to the end of the academic school year (May), minus the discount percentage given at time of enrollment –10% for 10-month prepayments and 5% for 5-month prepayments.

Enrollment priority is given to previously enrolled families, and families who have registered for Summer Camps or other Aventuras' programs. Once we receive your application, we'll review it and will let you know if you've been offered a spot, and next steps; or if you've been placed on our waitlist*.
Even if you are not sure about how many days per week or which weekdays your child(ren) will be attending, please select the number of days per week you're most likely interested in, and your best guess of which ones would work best for you. You can change or confirm the number of days per week and specific weekdays once you're offered a spot.
*Even though our after school program is often times full at both locations, enrolled families' circumstances change and we sometimes have openings at the beginning of each month, therefore we are open to receiving applications at any time.
