You must have a passion for children and teaching, be a positive team member, and love to facilitate creative experiential learning activities with school-aged children.

You are bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English, preferably a native Spanish speaker with roots in a Spanish-speaking country.

You have a BS/BA degree, and have completed at least 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units, or have an ECE Practitioner Certificate (18 units).

You have at least 2 years of experience working with children in a preschool, elementary school or an after school/summer camp program.

Bonus if you have taken classes or are passionate/skilled in music, dance, drama, visual arts, circus arts, or similar disciplines.

You have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, an up-beat personality, very strong multi-tasking skills, and enjoy working collaboratively.

Bonus if you have strong leadership and organizational skills.

You are 18+ years old, with a legal employment status that enables you to work in the U.S.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-
Collaborate with the Executive Director and the Programs & Operations Director in developing curriculum
-
Lead creative experiential learning classes for kids ages 2 – 10, for our preschool-age programs, teach in the after school program, Summer/Day Camps, and any other programming being offered in the future
-
Supervise children, providing emotional support and ensuring their safety
-
Designing, organizing and implementing music, movement, arts & crafts, and/or STEM projects
-
Organizing other recreational activities as needed
-
Onsite supervision of day-to-day aspects of the program
-
Distribute snacks during the after school program and/or Day Camps/Summer Camps
-
Supervise dismissal times and maintain positive rapport with parents and guardians
-
Communicate with team members and parents about student's progress and behavior
-
Respond in a timely fashion to all inquiries regarding the program
-
Maintain clean and orderly classroom environments
-
Maintain accurate attendance and pick-up records
-
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
At least 2 years of professional experience in school or children’s enrichment programs, including recreational ones
-
A BS/BA degree preferably in the arts/humanities fields, at least 12 completed ECE units (or equivalent), or an ECE Practitioner Certificate (18 units). Education degree (teaching credentials, certificate for elementary school teaching) and/or arts education a plus
-
Open-mindedness, organizational skills, creativity, and enthusiasm for improvisation
-
Competency with basic word processing and internet functions; as well as all applications used in the regular functioning of the afterschool program
-
Ability to ascertain which people may need immediate assistance and to act accordingly
-
Native Spanish and Advanced English language skills
-
Preferably experienced in Latin American/Hispanic cultures

Valid US work permit required
